Say Goodbye, final pics.

That's it!

She's off my hands now. I dropped her off at the dealership the other day, so that it can be collected by the auction company.

For a car that's knocking on the door of 60,000 miles, it's not half bad!

Someone's going to get a nice car. :)

Why has it gone to auction ??

I've returned it back to RFS as per my agreement.

With my new job, I don't get to buy my own cars... they just give me a new car every so often.

It means I'm £100/month better-off, but I'd still prefer to run my own car: I find car ownership fun.

Sorry for being thick but whats RFS ?? something to do with finance ??

Just didn't understand why they would send it to auction when they could sell it at the dealership

Ooops they got there before you.

Renault finance (I bought it on an HP agreement).

I get to hand it back, instead of faffing around trying to sell it.

RFS make enough money on interest, so they can afford to auction them off.

How does that work then do you never own the car or do they buy it off you ?

You never own the car realy its under finance its just leased to you. At the end you have an option to purchace The compnay worked out the worst possible price its likly to eb work and say well you can buy for say £4k and the monthy costis based around that. The advantage of HP is that you don't have milage limits as normal finance for a 182 would be more if you told them you did 30k a year like Oms did.

Bargain heading to someone

Definatly I'd imagine somones keeping an eye out. Will be a true bargin.

Bit of mileage there !! 60k on a 54 plate car  I assume you do a lot of miles for work or something ?

Yes... I do loads of miles (normally).

I bought the car on January 11th 2005.

If i'm employed for a full year, then 40k (including private miles) would be my annual mileage.

At the tail end of the past two years, I'd not been working in November & December (hence the lower mileage on my clock) + my car was in a bodyshop for 5 weeks of this year. Otherwise, it'd be closer to 80,000 miles.

I'll tell you what though, most of the mileage has been country lanes... Down here we have awesome A/B roads. I've had SO much fun in this car.

How does that work then do you never own the car or do they buy it off you ?

I own the car... and they give me a loan to buy it off them.

If I'd kept the car for the full term of the loan, I'd fully own it.

There is an option to hand it back after you've paid half. It works out better for me because of my mileage. My car would be worth £6750 trade at the moment... but there's around £8k left of the finance to settle.

Therefore, just handing it back is worth more £££ to me.

They've made their money in interest anyway... so they don't care. :)

Mine was lower than yours... na na na nanana!

What are you running now Chris? :)

That was pre-Eibach days for me, I lost a good few mm's later in her life before she moved abroad (er, Wales).

I have a Hyundai Coupe at the moment, £1500 winter car until I decide what to do next in the Spring. Main thing is I don't keep going out at 7am on a January morning anymore "just for a drive" like I kept doing in the Cup, so although I'm now depressed I'm at least saving loads of money!

I can't wait to earn my 'ring sticker for this though.

That's not bad.. it shouldn't depreciate that badly at all.

I know what you mean about going for a drive... in our lifetime, we may not be able to do that for much longer anyway (have you seen that amount of sh*t the government has planned for us? Scary!).
