Hi could anybody help I have a clio 182 with both cup packs and I have a problem with the steering when I go round bends and roundabouts I seem to lose grip (plenty of tread left on tyres) it doesnt handle as well as it did I used to whizz round em but now feel a bit unsafe the steering feels pretty loose and light as though the wheels aint in tune with the steering. I had cv boot clip replaced and re greased few weeks back drivers side duno if that could be a prob again.

Check for signs of leaking shocks, check the back shocks also. That would be my first port of call.

Ok thank you for your advice I shall take it to a garage and ask them to check for me as I havent got a clue what im looking for or at lol.

I would also suggest rear shocks.

Just get a friend / parent / grown up to jack the back end up and have a look. Might need to whip the wheel off but its really easy to have a look.

I had a similar issue with the steering a few weeks back - felt like the car was going to roll over or flip when you went around any corners.... after checking the rear shocks the drivers side shock was knackered.. it was also leaking all over my alloy (tell tale sign).. from a garage expect to pay £90 to supply and fit one rear shock. On ebay there is a company in Rotherham or Sheffield selling the shocks for £40 inc postage so If you knew someone who could fit them it wont cost much to replace. Get it checked sooner rather than later otherwise you could have a serious accident if the shock fails to work - the rear shocks are telescopic and can jam.....I had a GAZ shock do that on my Phase 2 clio williams and it flipped the car into a corkscrew when driving fairly quick round a corner - ended up with car being a mess..
Just go easy! Think safety first...

Not at all

If my name was Mace or Will, I'd have told her I rescue homeless puppies and feed them to starving children, my parents would love her, and that dinner was being served at 7...

However, I asked as if she was near Birmingham, I'd have suggested going to see Fred, or Danny519 if she was somewhere near there... for example.

BUT, as she's in Kent I would suggest if she's anywhere near Dartford, she should pop in to TwoTechs .. also if she would be so kind, bring the hedge trimmer from my parent's place near Bluewater on the way over for dinner :rasp:
