Afternoon Chaps

After selling my old 172 Cup back in 2013 for a Megane 225, I knew i'd always be back in a RS Clio at some point!

Had a 1.25 mk5 Fiesta for 18 months whilst saving for a House deposit, but recently got a new job as a Train Driver in London so thought I'd treat myself to another Clio.

I had been looking vaguely for about a week, had a budget of £2.5k so opened up both 172's and 182's, saw some on Ebay and they looked rough and a lot hadn't had the Cambelt's replaced.

One popped up earlier this week on Autotrader at a Car Garage 10 miles from me so I went to have a look, got there and it looked excellent Monaco Blue and a few mods from a quick lookaround.
I spotted a CS sticker in the rear window so searched the number plate on here and found that @Cudey use to own it for a couple of years and had looked after it very well and done alot of modifications to it, so I knew it had been looked after properly.
There was an Invoice for a Cambelt change in 2008 but knew it would need another asap so I bartered the price down and left a deposit.

After a few messages back and forth with Cudey it came to fruition that he had the Cambelt and Dephaser replaced in 2013 at James Stone/Michael Woodford, Result!!

So Friday evening I picked the Car up, so glad to be back in one.
Here's some details:
53 plate 172
Monaco Blue
79k Miles
Full service History with Cambelt and Dephaser replaced.
Lowered on Eibach Sportlines
Cup shocks
Powerflow Catback exhaust
KTEC Induction Kit
RS Tuner remap
Cup Spoiler
Parrot Headunit

No plans for it as such at the moment, maybe a machine polish, new numberplates and some Recaros at some point down the line.

Well the Clio didn't have a good day yesterday!
I had left my house and driving on my road, a neighbouring hoise about 10 houses up were having their driveway renewed, the labourers where breaking up the old concrete into lumps and chucking it into the bad of a flatbed truck, i'm driving along at 10mph when a slab of concrete suddenly lands in the middle of the road (Labourers had obviously threw it too hard and overshot the lorry)
I had no time to react, drove over the slab and immediately a huge bang!

Looked in the rear view mirror and oil pouring out everywhere, engine turned straight off and parked the car up still in my road.

Look under the car and the sump completely shattered oil pouring all over the place.

I run back to the lorry and the labourers had quickly moved the concrete back into the truck from the road so there is no "evidence"
They were foreign so asked to get the Boss round, 2 mins later 6 men turn up all saying not out fault etc etc, (you know the type of people who do driveways and travel in groups)
Stood my ground and said you are paying it or i'll call the police, so the Clios been recovered to a local garage to be fixed and the company will foot the bill, if they dont both my Sister and Girlfriend are qualified solicitors so will be claiming against the limited company and I have witnesses and photos.
