Had to happen, iOS6 is nothing short of poor, its iOS5 but a bit worse, when you've got android moving in the opposite direction and jellybean "almost" there then something has to give.
I suspect forstall spent the year between 5 and 6 counting his cash and stock options.

Not sure what to think of this. Forstall was bumming Jobs, so part me thinks this is a bad idea. Although being sensible, I think we all know iOS has gone stale and is quite frankly, f**king boring. The premise of Ive also controlling how the OS looks, fills me with optimism about the future of Apple. I'd love to see him as CEO, although he's probably a bit too soft.
