Scott. Nimbus > Everything Project Log.

  Fiesta ST-3
So back in October I bought the 197 from a member on here (18ME) with only 21k on the clock. The car was registered in 2008 and had 2 previous owners. The latter being a superb owner with no expense spared.

I wanted to continue this myself and keep the standard hi. So this is my project log from my owner ship until the end of her days. I guess I should start with the spec.

Renaultsport Clio 197 (NIMBUS) with all the desirable options, very well looked after, low mileage and in a great colour.

Optional equipment:

Nimbus Grey
Cup Pack (chassis, anthracite alloys, Brembo brakes)
Recaros
Xenons
Climate Control
Privacy Glass
Electric Folding Mirrors

Standard equipment:

Keyless Entry and Go
Cruise Control
Cornering Lights
Traction Control
Computer
CD Player
Electric Windows and Mirrors
Auto Lights
Auto Wipers.

Pictures from sale.

The car at the moment has Full Renault Service history at each service interval.

Thanks for looking. My next update will be along shortly.

Awesome.

Needs an Elia spoiler. I'd have said GT spoiler but that's a new tailgate to go with it. lol.

Nimbus is way too classy for the Chav Spoiler.

So the my initial plan was to not touch the car at all. Leave her 100% standard. Sadly about 3 months ago someone pulled out on me and I smashed the beautiful rims into the curb and I fell out of love with the car.

But I'm glad to say since then my love for the car has rekindled and I have a 3 stage plan for mods and improvements.

Stage 1

  • Lower the car to reduce arch gap.
  • Wheel spacers to push the wheels out slightly for a better stance
  • Silver tech bulbs
  • Led number plate lights for a fresher look.

Stage 2

  • Refurbish Alloy wheels maybe in a darker colour. Like in the photoshopped picture below.

Stage 3

  • k-Tec Cat Back exhaust system
  • K-Tec Sprint Rear Spoiler.

After this I don't in visage doing much more to the car at all. Other than keeping in check with its services and tiding up bits and pieces here and there.

Cheers guys.

Stage 1 Update

So last week I took the plunge after long consideration of getting the car lowered or not and bought some H&R Springs. 25mm on the front and 30mm on the rear.

I had them fitted the night before last and here is a before and after.

I have to admit I'm really not loving the stance atm... I hope spacers will make hell of a difference and in all honesty these pictures do nothing for the car. So I will pop out today and get some better.

Any suggestions on how much to push the front and rear out?

This week I also took a trip to cardiff to pick up these bad boys..... Any guesses?

Yeap thats right... Another set of Raiders (At least thats what I believe they are called on Clio197.net)

These will be powder coated slightly darker than they currently are, even possibly black tbh but we will see. Had a quote from the sprayer for £210 powder coated for all four which I thought was a good price tbh. Fortunately I had two good tyres on these which are almost new and I got the four for £122. Bargain. They should be going in for some paint around the end of this month/start of next.

But for the time being I need some spacers :(

Thanks for reading.

Looks so good! I really like the height, not too low just a subtle drop!

Look forward to seeing it with spacers fitted!

Whats it like on fuel btw? mpg wise?

I love this man, it's great! I hope I have one, one day!

Cheers guys :)

Looks awesome mate.

The drop is nice and subtle, but a definite improvement. Looking forward to seeing those wheels spaced out!

You me both mate :)

Cheers man. Actually I'm not getting that bad, about 31 mpg average.

Lovely car!, thought you where selling?

I was/am dude. Got a new job in Pembroke. I'm lift sharing so has cut my monthly petrol in half. So I will go a couple of months and monitor it from there.

Ok so a little bit of an update.

Since my last update I have fitted White interior bulbs and number plate bulbs. Sent the wheels off to be refurbed (still waiting on those) and finally purchase some spacers and get them fitted on.

So I decided to go for Eibach spacers of 20mm each side and IMO it looks bob on. Here is just one crappy iPhone picture. More pictures maybe this evening.

Before springs and spacers

  • Silver tech bulbs
  • Led number plate lights for a fresher look. Done

Thanks for looking.

That's convinced me on what I need to do now then.

What was the total cost for the H&R's and 20mm Eibachs?
