Better/easier than SRP by hand?

MUCH harder - it is designed to remove swirls rather than cover/fill them and won't leave any protection like the SRP will.

Personally I wouldn't attempt a whole car with it as it would take so long and would look stupid if you start and don't finish.

Naith, on you're black Megane you are looking at 2-3 solid days of work to get it done just as a heads up if you decide to get it!

Fair play Naith, just it is a LOT of hard work especially on a black car and also if you are getting the car PCd anyway might not be that much point...but if you are REALLY bored and fancy getting a forearm like Popeye then no harm having a go I guess.

Scratch X is a good thing to have to do any small areas but wouldn't fancy doing my whole car with it. Mine is in St Albans otherwise you could have it as I don't really use it any more.

What's wrong with your car though mate has it broken again?

SRP is a very mild polish/paint cleaner rather than a abrasive enough to correct any real swirling.

I knew i wouldn't get great results from it, but thought it might reduce them a bit.
I might give the scratchX a go then. I don't think my paint is worth PCing.

Takes a lot of effort to get those reults mate. Although i did find that spending a quick 20 mins on my own bonnet made a difference, one application will see very minor swirl marks removed if you know what your doing, but dont expect deeper ones to be removed so easily, hand removal of swirls like the one on the mercaedes takes a LOT of elbow grease and a lot of time, spend 3 hours on that small area..

again... lol, its not that bad, but yeh its a mess. ive taken badges n stuff off it tho whilst it gets fixed so shud be ok in a week or two :S

as for ur scratch x just get it from home when ur down n bring it back to leeds which im sure u'll do anyway, i'll sort u a kitkat

Ha...drive 360 miles to get something which costs £11...that my friend is not an economical solution to the problem!

What you getting done to your badges? If you are bored and fancy the drive down south over summer I can do your car properly then, was going to bring all my stuff up with me to uni but would have had to leave stuff like clothes and books behind, not cool! Will give you good prices, American dollars! I like your wiiife!

You can do your whole car with it but wouldn't ever want to myself...it is really best for small areas.

And don't get a PC...Megs 220 is the new kid in town lol (unless you want to buy mine so I can get the Megs?!? )

Replied to your PM...as I said though by the time I included the transformer an d postage costs you would be better of buying a new Megs unit probably! Sorry.

PC = Porter Cable random-orbital polisher. You can still buy them but the new Megs polisher is basically the same if not slightly better, but it is made for the UK marker so no transformer needed (which cost me almost £50 by itself!)

i4detailing and Clean Your Car have some good packages, i4detailing has a 7.5% CS discount though so might be the best choice. Bare in mind you will also need a full set of pads and polishes if you want one which will add to the prices.

I use Menzerna polishes and Sonus SFX pads, 6" and 4".
