Seat Belt Retraction Slow

The drivers side seat belt on my 182 has recently become incredibly slow to retract. I have no idea if its knackered or not, I did a search and someone said that it might be full of dirt or fluff.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? I thought I might have to replace something, but really don't have a clue about what is involved.

Mine is the same, I just assumed its the belt getting old and worn.

They're not too difficult to remove but the rear door card does need to come off.

Interesting. I'll have to look into the cost of a new one then eventually. I assume its like the spring/thing that winds the belt up as opposed to the actual belt?
