Seat Covers - good or bad idea with regards to the side airbags?

Ive been looking at getting some seat covers for the car, well just the one seat if i can, so when i take the dog out i can have the seat cover on to protect the upholstry.

Now i now that there are side airbags in the seats and im not wanting to risk having the seat cover/covers on if it means that the airbags fail to work if i was to have a crash...

Pets at home do a dog cover for the boot, when we use the clio on the oded occasion the 4x4 isn't available, we just fold it in half and chuck it on the seat - easier than seat covers, and wont stop the air bags working....

The latest Snap On ones are fine for use on Airbagged seats.
