seatbelt has locked!

My Seatbelt in the back of my clio has locked! Just wondered if anyone has experienced similar problems? Is there any way of freeing the seatbelt or do i have to get a new 1?

what one is it? did it just lock or did it get pulled? sometimes when they get pulled there is not enough seat belt there to go back and unlock it. i had that on an older car, had to pull the plastic back and get in behind to unbolt seat belt , then when there was enough slack it sorted itself out.

the belts probably jammed internally and so would need changing.

My drivers belt jammed. It turned out that the inertia reel assembly had somehow rotated a bit (its only connected by one bolt in my car). They only release the belt when upright so if its too angled it will jam. You might be lucky if thats your problem, if not then what Jay said.

good point.if the reel is not bolted in the correct posotion the mechanism wont release out the belt but it does retract it in.
