Second hand ECU

Will this work on my car (03 172) or will it only work on the car it was removed from (imobillized thingy).

This would make a fantastic base for a Piggy back ECU project.

Bugger. Didnt think it would.

I really want some DIY laptop power (mapable ECU connected to computer in the car) but I cant afford (yet) for Andy at GDI to do it and I dont wanna risk messing up my original ECU.

Hang on. Which bit of the ECU stops you from using it???

Could I just remove the Pic/chip whatever out of it and then solder it into my original ECU??
