An old girl gets a spruce up and some well deserved TLC, step forward a 1990 Ford Escort RSturbo.
On arrival and doesnt she look clean?

Well yes, she does, from a few feet anyway. This car is in real good condition for a 1990 car make no mistake, but lets reserve judgement for a little longer.
The car was treated to a full comprehensive safe wash and paintwork detox. Foamed with a ph neutral foam, left to dwell whilst the wheels got a little going over. The car was rinsed & wash with a MF mitt & rinsed. Tar & GLue remover applied, rinsed and then a mild clay bar used to remove bonded on contaminants. dryd over and left this:
Let the halogens reveal all, and i mean ALL!
Drivers door:

Rear quarter:

Various:

The paint thickness was measured :

and plotted to show what level of correction could be achieved and how aggressive I could be with polishing.

Front wing ready to try out polish n pad combinations

After a few passes of Menz 203

Bonnnet

Bonnet reflection

Makita rotary in action

Some close up 50:50's

After polishing

The car had some pretty major defects, most of which were addressed with a variety of polishes. Menzerna 203, 85RD,Dodo LimePrime & some 3M products made an appearance also.
Clearcote Red Moose glaze was then applied by Da polisher, this has almost zero cut and is purely adding "bling" (did i really just type that?) to the finish.
The car would be protected by hand application of Dodo Supernatural wax and topped off after curing time with Dodo Red mist.
