...an H reg' Astra GSI.

A local joey has been pounding around in an absolute sh!tter of an Astra GSI. He drives it like and absolute loon and it sounds like he dropped a set of Drapers in the oil cap.

My notoriously impressionable brother came in last night 'Those Clio 197's are sh!t, Tom's Astra slaughtered one earlier and he was trying'.

I know there has been muchos debate over the straightline speed of the 197 but I told him the Astra would be nothing more than a speck in the mirror once a corner appeared. 'No, no, no' says my brother, 'We killed him on the corners too'

So there you go guys, the Astra GSI, what a weapon.

Just to confirm, a 197 has the same straightline speed as a 182. We've (me and a mate)had one side by sidewith my 182. They just need working through the gears more ;)

I sold my Mk2 Astra GTE after a week ( well 4 days !), they don't do bends, nor did the Mk3 GSi

Its as bad as some of the lads at work...

"mate get yourself a Metro GTA rate fast, straight thru pipe an lot on it f**king rapid ya know what am sayin like"

or...

"propa killed a R32 last nite, wa revvin it at lights then ya know propa flooered it and left him mate" (in his 1.2 L reg corsa with a 5" exhaust on)


I cant even be bothered to prove them wrong sometimes!

The worst thing is, you have to prove them wrong, they're always right in their own mind.

Many moons ago, I had a crack against an S4 Avant and did suprisingly well. It turned out that it belonged to the dad of the kid with the worlds fastest Astra GSI mentioned above.

I then saw the kid in the pub that night and the barrage never ended. He told me it would have been a different story if he was driving, his brothers bird told me I was lying when I said the Clio put up a good fight even though she was told by the guy driving the S4, his brother even challenged me to a race with him in his leased Evo.

A race of monkeys and unfortunately, the majority are this countries future generation.

woooho, just had a race with an audi s3 (not the latest model), and the first three gears I was in front, and then after about 90 mph he started leaving me.

i had the 1.4 metro GTI m reg honda engine in it for me first car really nice little cars very nippy an very good for the bends but no where near the power of a r32 r any thing else like that:)

my mate had a 16v redtop mk2 astra it was faster in a straight line than a 172 .Keeping it in a straight line was a different matter, taught me all about torque steer .
