After a week of really painful driving, and a week of driving dire semi auto cars in a search for a less painful alternative to the clio I have come to the conclusion that i will either:
1. Keep the clio and try to find a specialist to convert it to the QS5 box.
2. Buy another smart and put money aside to have the engine rebuilt every 30k.
My other half has told me that she loves my car and feels really comfy driving it, so rather than mess about with dealers who try to screw me etc I think i'll hang on to it.
So my question is:
Can you convert a 2005 1.2 16v manual 5 speed to a semi auto with the aid of a QS5 gearbox from a 2003 1.2 16v clio? Who would have a QS5 box besides renault? How much should i pay for A) the box? B) the labour?
Have just sent an email to http://renault-spare-parts.com/, are these the only people who specialise in renault spares?
Cheers guys. Dave
PS. Thanks to all who helped me when i was asking about tuning, this might help it to become a reality!
