service light, oil light and stop light

hi i have a fault on my car but not sure what it is, i was wondering if any1 could help. my service light is constantly on and while driving the oil light and stop light flash on and stay on for a bit, then go off and stay off. this happens all the time while driving. any ideas ??

i get the same on my car and my old clio but not the oil light. the light come on more when i go round corners i find (Service light, stop light/hand brake light)

the car started doing it about 2 month ago, i got the oil and filter changed the other week cause thats what i thought it would be. but the the lights are still coming on. :S

Started 2 months ago and only just changed the oil 2 weeks ago:S.

Have you actually checked the level??

Fluid level. Usually caused by worn brake pads. Don't top the fluid up without changing the pads first, or you'll overflow when you do = bad.

OP, you drove around with an oil pressure warning light for a few weeks? Your engine's probably fucked now. Or it could be a sensor I suppose.

Original question by Big Duff... most likely to be the oil pressure switch at fault IF the oil level if bang on... fit a new one. No damage will have been done if its just a faulty switch as they're pretty common for it so fret not. It may however be prudent to have the engines actual oil pressure measured mechanically from a true "cold" start and again at "hot" idle just to be on the safe side to be sure its not a blocked or dying oil pump (But that's just me).

thanks for all your help, i still drove the car as when i checked the oil the level was fine and when starting the car the oil ok light always flashed on as normal.
