Service??

Hi Guys...

I drove my car to work this morning no prob's...get in the car tonight to come home and the OIL diagnostics on the speedo is flashing the 'serv' light is on :S . Ok so this isn't out of the ordinary, but the car had a full service 7k miles ago, when car was on 46k. I do quite a lot of miles for my job and tend to drive it fairly hard and now its got 53k on the clock. I'm after a bit of advice on what to do...shall i a) get it fully serviced, b) just change the oil and filter, c) check the oil in the morning (when its light) and top it up if need be?

Preferrably if i could get away without servicing every 7k miles i'll be happy.

At the end of the day, whats best for the car?

As I understand it, the SERV light doesn't mean your car needs servicing, just that the computer has logged some kind of fault. Probably related to your oil by the sounds of it!

its a fault.... get it checked

i think it shouts at you if the oil is below min on the sensor.

Cheers guys, i'll check the levels in the morning when the lights a tad better.
