Setting an external hard drive's path reference??

Got a load of music stored on my ext HD, which was under 'F'

just put an SD card into the built in reader and its decided that was drive F, and re assigned the ext HD to 'G'

so now in media player it wont automatically find my music, how can I set the HD to always be F? and the card reader to another letter?
