several issues... any advice?

Hi all,

Been looking through the forum on the same issues I've solved one! but have a few others...

1. When taking a hard corner (long one say a motorway turn off) the STOP, battery / oil light will flash constantly until on a straight again. This only happens on a hard turn not normal corners. Would this just be low ish oil on either the brake fluid sensor or engine oil moving about?

2. When starting the car sometimes it turns over in a second but sometimes it really tries and takes at least 3-5 seconds and once its done the trip counter for mpg/miles done would have reset. would this be starter or battery issues?

3. When the engine is on it has a light squeel / belt noise until warm but i can hear it whistle a bit under hard acceleration sometimes, would this be a tight or worm aux belt atall?

Check the brake fluid level
The 2nd i would say possibly battery. Get it checked

3rd i'd say aux belt is worn

If the alternator is shot flicking lights are a sign

Never really noitced, mainly daytime driving really and only owned the car over a month so been staying light later than usual.

If I start the car and leave it idle would they flicker a lot or would this be intermittent flickering when driving? (172 xenon lights)

The interior light would flicker. Have a look at the headlights also

If the brake fluid is low. Stop & handbrake light would flash up

+ yeah the handbrake one and stop flashes at me when hard cornering only. for some reason I put oil light in my first post.... haha

Benz, did your headlights flicker?

i've got a similar problem, all lights flicker on idle. Kyle, are you saying the aux belt can cause this?
