Sharing SkyHD without wires?

Can it be done?

My setup is / will be. Sky HD in the lounge with an HDMI connection to the TV. Sky HD Multiroom in the office / spare room connected to the TV with HDMI.

I'd like the lounge box to connect to my bedroom but I don't really want to run a coxial cable through the house or into the loft.

I've seen these wireless things - can they be connected directly to the back of the Sky HD box and transmit to my bedroom tv? Ideally, i'd like the "remote eye" to work so I can change channels.

Cheers.

Cheers - meant to say that I realised it wouldn't be HD in that room - doesn't really bother me.

Any particularly good equipment available to do it? I remember seeing something from Phillips.

Cheers.

Just hope you havent got wireless interweb or a dect phone. You'll get loads of interference. Wait till your next door neighbour switches on their hairdryer.

Wires FTW!

^^ what he said. I got one of the most expensive wireless video senders I could get, and even with the wifi on channel 13 and the video sender on the lowest channel I could set it to, the TV signal is still rubbish.

Best option IMO is a Slingbox so the video sends over your wireless network - but then you need a PC connected to the TV that you want to watch on. But on the Slingmedia website, there's a new device that their planning that's like a Slingbox receiver - so no PC required. Looks like a winner as long as it's not too expensive.

Cheers lads - that's a bit of a concern as I've got both of those.

Maybe a trip into the loft with some coax is the way to go.

Cheers

I have to say, I thought the same and was sceptical when I needed to use some, so I bought the tesco ones for £22 because if it didn't work I wouldn't really have lost much.....

They work bloody brilliant. We've now got 2 sets, wifi a dect phone and a wireless dect extender (with an extra slave for our sky multiroom) + We also pick up a few other random wireless networks.

We get zero interference, even with the microwave on it doesn't interfere.

had one of those video senders, was total s**t like.

i didn't want to run coxial cable either but ended up running coxial cable to the bedroom and attached the magic eye. This is only for changing channel though, also ran a long component cable & phonos from the back of the box to the bedroom so that its in hd. works a treat, outputs hdmi and component at the same time/

If I was you, I'd buy a HDMI Splitter and run Coax and a HDMI cable to the bedroom. Stick the magic eye on end of the Coax in your room whilst still having Sky HD!! Makes sense to me!
