Shell Optimax vs BP Ultimate

Ultimate is superunleaded with cleaning additives and is 97RON

Optimax is 98.6RON fuel with cleaning additives.

Optimax all the way ;)

is it available at all esso garages might give it a try..anyone now where some would be sold in chesterfield/sheffield?

Unless you have a turbo car I doubt it will make any difference to the average engine, but the 172 is recommended by renault to use 98ron, so who am I to argue with them.

I dont think there will be much between them - and especially if its going in an old car with knock sensors then there will be minmal performance benefits anyway. I always use the best fuel I can find, but not for tany supposed performance aspects.

Lets face it, fuel is a very low margin business. So, if you invent a super fuel and charge a premium for it, youre onto a winner. The Board and shareholders will love you and drivers of the burgeoning "sport" market are happy. Bingo.

All this ron crap means very little its all about the way the fuel is blended the amount of carbon in it etc..

I wouldnt use anything other than Optimax, if couldnt get it then super unleaded of some sort. Why take the risk for the sake of a couple of £s

Stomba, I recomend Full Fat Coke if you cant get Diesel. If you cant get the Full Fat Coke, go for Diet with a Shot of Redbull...
