Shift light on 172 Cup & How old are you?

If you are giving a 172 a hard time how in the hell do you have time to look at the shift light.......

It's very easy? Not like they are fast cars.

Im 25, with a cup. I love it to bits, just looking forward to the nice weather to get here, so i can start giving it some proper stick in the bends. this wet weather isnt much fun as its too slippery!

My 172 was a late Mk1 and didn't have the light ... but had it had one it would have been on frequently ... once the engine was warmed up I fully used the rev range every day .

My Vee has a light and yes it comes on regularly .

I'm 91 next week according to my profile . I have 3 young kids, and so it has been suggested in the past that my Vee is an inappropriate car for a man of my age and situation. I disagree .

As for the shiftlight.. seen it a few times.. not because it dosen't come on.. But if i tried to watch for it whilst flat down a lane.. then i'd end up in a tree..

Yeah I always thought that too! It's good for motorway sliproads though. Only problem is if you keep watching for the light, you're doing 100mph before you've joined the motorway!

once you know where the light is and when you expect it to come on you can see it out of the corner of your eye, obviously its easier at night, but at this time of year is dark when I go to work and dark when I come home from work!
