Short aerial for mk2ph1

With all these C2 VTS aerials flying around i'm quite jealous, and i know the ph2 and ph1 have different thread sizes and the shorter aerial advised for the ph1 is a halfrauds one (which quite bluntly is f**king awful on reception) i was just wondering if any ph1 owners know of a shorter aerial which will fit a ph1 but is from another car, i.e honda or something....

ive asked the exact same question sooo many times and the best answer i have gotten is to just chop the orig one down. Keen to know if there is something els that would work aswel

could you not remove the thread out the bottom of a short one,get a bolt with the correct thread size,cut the head off,fibreglass the thread into the aerial,let it dry then fit it?

Long winded way, but maybe its worth a try, just worried that by taking it all apart i'd end up with worse reception that i have atm!
