Should I go for uprated engine mounts?

Car  Westfield
I am planning on doing some track days this year, Brands + Nurburgring and maybe others depending on finances.

I am also going to do a RWYB day at Santa Pod

I'm interested on peoples opionions on whether or not I should uprate the engine and gearbox mounts in time for this?

I have read all the threads on here about engine mounts, and the vibration etc..

Just concerned that with some launching at Pod and a couple of hard track days could cause damage, for the sake of £200 to uprate the mounts.

I thought about uprating them, but for the money you would be better off getting oem ones mate.

I really rate my dogbone mount, not upgraded anything else though.

I think it's generally agreed that the dogbone is the only one worth uprating.

I've done mine recently and it's made a huge difference. Worth the ~£25 odd all day long.

My vibrated like mad when i first got it on tickover, but it's settled down loads, don't even notice it now, gearchange has improved lots.

I recommend uprating the engine and box mounts, it reduces the engine movement a lot and is definitely a worthwhile upgrade imo.

I would suggest you do everything though including arb and wishbone bushes as by stiffening up one end is only going to transfer the twisting force to another component basically wearing out other parts quicker.

If your doing 1/4 miles and the like then yes get them. The reduce movement and waste less energy moving the engine. I honestly felt it was faster with the upgraded mounts. There will be more vibration though bit IMO it's worth it as it tightens the whole car up. It stops the engine feeling like it's on a leash.

I have the whole uprated lot. even for a road car it's worth doing in my opinion. You'll love it when givin it some ;)

I've had mine done, money well spent imo, had my standards replaced a few times and wish I had done this sooner! Much improved gearbox feel, more feel through the engine, if they are fitted correctly they don't vibrate as much and the initial vibration will die down in a few thousand miles. They just give the car a more tightened/ taught feel. Play in your engine mounts will lead to more crunches from the gear box under hard driving and obviously more wear and damage done to it.

I got mine replaced last week. Did dogbone top engine and gearbox mounts. Started to settle down alreay but the car feels so much more planted now than it did before.

Seems like a lot of different opinions,

Do you think the OEM mounts are fine for some abuse at the pod?

My car only has 25k on the clock and the OEM mounts seem fine
