Should I set my GT up as a Clio 200?

  Not a 320d
So I manned up and had my spacers and camber bolts fitted this morning.

Tomorrow im having it setup on a hunter system and I was thikning, apart from camber (as im having that as -1.5 each wheel), should I set up the other things (Toe, caster etc) to the same settings on a clio 200. I mean why not right?

Or should I just have it done as a MK3 Clio GT which is what it is.

Oh for those that dont know the car is on coilovers.

there isnt a right or wrong answer to your question, geo should be set up how you think you want it and change it if it doesnt suit your driving style/look your after!!
yes this might mean 2/3/4 trips back but if you get what you want in the end its money well spent imo!!

no, wasting your time as it ISN'T a 200

go for custom with sllight toe out on the front and give that a try

I'd save your money, and buy a 200!

f**k off.

The whole reason I bought the GT was to save money and not skint myself for the sake of a car (a clio at that), so far ive achieved that. I needed the cars geometry set up as I had it put on coilovers so I figured why the hell not. What was I supposed to do, run around with positive camber and toe which was WAY out for the next 2 years? Needed doing so it wasnt going to cost me any extra.

I dont like the 200, Nor would I want to run one (oh yeah insurance??!!) at my age and under my situation. Im f**king sick of having to justify buying a GT. I like it, even more so now ive had it set up as its changed the car entirely and it goes round corners on rails.

I went for -1.5 camber on front wheels, although I only got -1.17 or so on each wheel (even after loosening both bolts, setting the maximum camber on the bolt, and tilting the brake disk to give as much negative camber before tightening back up) which was not what I expected, and I opted for a very slight inward toe. Got my steeing wheel clamped and thats near as dammit perfect.

Fred, Should I buy another set of bolts to replace the lower strut bolts, will this achieve more camber? I think im happy with it now but ive yet to give it some welly and see what it can do.

Yeah tell me about it, to begin with we set the camber bolts as far as they would go, could see the weel moving, set it back down and it was still positive camber.

Ive got 20mm spacers on each wheel too so was expecting even more.

I made them get it back up and have another crack, loosening both bolts, grabbing the discs and forcing negative camber, then tighting it back up still holding the disc in place. That gave us negative 1.16 or so on each wheel which I was still worried about but decided it was as good as it would get. The bolts remained in the fully negative position too so it wasnt moving when tightning both bolts back up.

sorry to say this, but going from your previous posts it seems you're doing stuff yourself? next time, come to someone such as, oooh, i dunno, ME (my arse and elbow differentiation skills are getting good these days ;))

pay me 2 hours labour max (about £100) camber bolts fitted and setup all done, happy times?

fair play for having a go yourself, its the best way to learn sometimes, but i think in this case you're learning the hard way! I'd even show you how to do it for future reference, so you'd learn something too!

No its ok, I paid someone to do it locally and set it up on a hunter system. Your 2.5 hours away, which I might consider. Ill see how it goes and if I find I want it doing by someone who knows what they are doing then ill give you a bell.

:)
