They're very compact mate, when you insert them (properly) you can make them so they don't poke out from your ear at all. Half the reason I got them was because I listen to my mp3 player when riding my motorbike, my standard phones were pressing on my helmet and giving me ear ache. Isolating wise they're really good too in fact when they're inserted well (you get a variety of size and shape nozzle ends) they cancel out most of the background noise.

They're a lot of money, but buying 2X Senns has cost you £50 or more, so if you look at it from that respect - buy cheap buy twice etc. Also if your Shures go wrong within 2 years, send them off with a purchase date and you'll have a shiny new replacement pair within a week no questions asked, that alone is reassuring.

Amazon have a STONKING deal on at the moment, I got mine off there http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0001NNLHK/?tag=cliospnet01-21

Don't buy them off eBay or marketplace though, there is a LOT of fakes around :(

Posted my experience of my E3C in this thread chap - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=227557

I'd personally go for the E3C, the E4C are really pushing the boat out in price. I'm surethe E4C offer their advantages over the E3C, but for most conventional non-professional applications the E3C will be more than adequate.

What is their primary use going to be in terms of what quality music, and where do you listen to it?

I'll grudge paying £35 for my headphones so I cannot see me paying £60 for the E3C :D for using the Nano in the train etc they will be fine.

I'd goto an Apple store and try both sets, personally I think the E3C at that discounted Amazon price are more than worth an hours pay.

listen to it on a bike, train (underground) and general use, think ill go for the e3c as they dont seem much better to an acerage persons ears!
