SI 16v / 1.4 RT

How rare is the SI(1.4 16v) version of the the mk1 Clio & what differences are theyre between that and the RT. Eg styling, 0-60, top speed etc.

Ive been quoted the same insurance premium for the Si against an RT - so its got me thinking, Ive just never seen one..ever.

AFAIK it doesnt exist !! There is a 1.4 S which is the same engine as an RT (1.4 8v) with little extras over the RT !! Im sure the 1.4 16v engine was introduced for the mk2 !!

There is no 1.4 16v engine available in the Mk1.

The 1.4 16v was only available after 1999 in the Mk2 Ph1 (carried over to the Ph2). Prior to that, all Clios used variations of the 1.4 8v Energy unit.

Not worth trying to find a 1.4S over an RT then?

There isnt an Si but there is an S which I have, well worth it!!, only thing is I dont like the phase 3 front semetimes!

The Sport is basically an Rsi with a 1.4 lump, so you get bucket seats, alloys, spoiler etc etc!
