Side Mouldings & Bumper Inserts

Hi all

On the latest style Clio, is it possible to remove the bumpstrips/inserts to get them sprayed or do they have to get them sprayed?
This brings me onto my main question... If I was to have these sprayed body colour, and then bought a body kit with front n rear bumpers a year down the line, & they used the same inserts on the front n back (in the black colour) is it possible to remove the inserts & swap them with the unsprayed ones on the new bought bumpers?

cheers all

The side strips remove very easily, I did it by accident a few times when cleaning my clio, When I had them colour coded they made them a bit more secure as they were vibrating with the bass!!

Dont think the front and rear bumper inserts are removable. Anyone back me up on this, Would be very helpful if they were. need to get my front bumper insert resprayed cos its started to peel in a few places, and the jet wash didnt help matters!

Cheers mate! Did you get them sprayed while they were on the car then? And check the 2002 Dynamique alloys thread Noel! got a couple of questions for you t here :)

you hasve to slide the side bumps strips off ,the ones ones on the doors slide towadrs the back,(you need the door open!!!) and the back two slide towards the front of the car!

Get you fingers underneath and pull it in the direction you want, they are quite flexible, sorry worry about snaping them!

had my side strips spayed off the car and the spolier and bumper on the car

hope this helps!

front bumper, use a flat headed screwdriver to prise the clips off

can be done with the bumper still on the car, thats how i done mine

Would it be easier for me to take the clips off and give them to the body shop ? Or u reckon they would find it easier to colour match etc etc if they have the car? cheers for all the feedback!

as long as they have the paint code they will match the colour without any problems

if you leave them to remove the moulding they will charge you for the labour involved

remove them yourself, give them to bodyshop, re-fit parts yourself, job done

alternatively, i have a rear bumper which is already off my car for sale (£40 + P&P) and the front bump strips (£10 + P&P) for sale

pm if interested

ok cheers mate, PM Sent

what about taking the rear bumper? that looks a lil harder to remove the black bit!

ive got a place that will spray all of them, the handles & the spoiler which is good! but I think I will have to give them the car anyways as they will need it to do the handles & spoiler! otherwise I could just take the strips off anyways to see it if it saves me anymore but i doubt it will!
