side repeater problem



  Renault Clio 1.2
hi, as you can see in the picture, ive taken away the side repeater to leave it hanging by the wires, got the new crystal ones ready to go on, and i cant manage to get the black plastic backing from the orange plastic part.

am i missing a trick, cos i was told its easy to do.

any help would be brilliant


if the pic doesnt work, sorry, my comp is s**gged. but if basically that i cant get the blac platic bit which houses the bulb away from the orange plastic bit which shows through the bodywork. cheers ollie

should just twist off i think, mine were quite stiff when i changed mine. just use a bit of elbow grease!!

The black plastic bit as you call it is part of the repaeater lens . It looks like its plastic welded on . When i changed mine you took " all " of the side repeater off and the replacement repeaters had the bit on the back you call the " black plastic bit " . Don't know what side repeaters you've bought but they don't sound like ones for clios .

some mk 1's have detatchable lenses from the black bit, i know mine was.

sounds like youve got the wrong repeaters.

either send em back n buy right ones, or try break the lense off the plastic and then glue your lense to it

Ok , didn't know it was a mark 1 i assumed they were all the same on all clios.

his is a mk 2, but on some mk 1's they do have detatchable black backings, so the repeater hes got is for a mk 1, not mk 2 :p
