sidelights not working

J

hi, i got some xenon lights for my mk2 ph1 about 8 months ago and no probs, also got the light blue/white side lights ive had no problems with them up to now, sometimes both of the sidelights go out then i take the sidelight holder out on the passenger side then they both come on, then some times the drivers side is off so i take that out then it comes on,

has anyone any ideas how to sort this?

thanks

thanks, do you mean the part which the bulb goes into is faulty or the connections on the actual bulb? if its the bulbs ive got some spares so ill put those in or try some cleaning spray

id not normally be bothered as you can never see them anyway but ive got my MOT in a week

thanks

I'm not even sure if they're an MOT requirement.. may be wrong!

I mean the 2 metal stripes on the actual bulb...

Clean the corrosion off the connectors with a small screwdriver. Apply some vaseline to the base of the sidelight when you put it in the holder to keep corrosion away.
