Sideways Play in passenger side strut.

Fitted the Powerflex poly bush kit at the weekend to anti roll bar and wishbone. I noticed something very strange about my passenger side strut and in a way its a good job I came across it.
I have the car on axle stands and basically the entire passenger side strut can be wiggled from side to side, causing the wheel to move slightly from side to side(outwards and inwards). The drivers side is firm and has no movement. Is this just a knackered bush in the strut top, or maybe something loose?

sounds like the top mounts. assuming the strut's bolted to the hub securely, the only other possible source of movement in the strut assembly is in the damper rod - would probably need to remove strut, strip it down, extend the rod and check it for play to be sure of that. most likely top mounts, as they're pretty poor
