Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 EX DG Lens - Thoughts?

As title states really, going away on Wednesday and after a good walkabout lens that is good in low light, nice and fast, also sharp too.

I have been offered one of the above at a good price. Will be used on my 550D.

What do you guys think of it?

Vibro on here had/ has one I think.

My only thoughts are that 24mm is not that wide on a crop sensor, but you have a UWA too don't you?

Mines sat in a box, hardly used it since I got a nikon 17-55 2.8 as I wanted something wider & partly because focusing was to slow for me.
If the price is good though, no harm in trying it out, second hand value hasnt changed since I bought mine 2 years ago and you'll sell it easily.

Yeah I have the Siggy 10-20mm too.

It would just be a walkabout one.

Its been offered at £220 posted, like new with hood, pouch etc..?

Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is a peach.

Im unsure if it would have enough reach for me, using the the kit 18-55, it just seems to fall short on certain shots
