simota induction kits

Car  clio sport 182
i as title says anybody got any good advise on these want good sound without losing any performance:eek:

I've got a Carbon Aero Form fitted to my 172. Sounds great when you put your foot down and definitely turns heads! :approve:

There is a noticable increase in torque at lower revs and more power at the top end! :D

I've also extended the original cold air feed and angled it directly into the intake cone to provide more air flow.

Check these vids out on You Tube.

i brought one, and then tested inlet temps against a viper and custom cold air feed a few months later...needless to say the viper was kept and the simota sold....it definately loses power from heat soak! Inlet temps were over 10 deg C higher than with the viper and air feed!

heat = less power!

I sounded great though, but then so does the viper...especially with a yozzasport exhaust shouting with it :)

Whilst they do sound great, its unfortuanately just an open filter really so heat soak r us. All they do is suck in hot air straight off the radiator in that position.

The only one really worth bothering with is a Maxogen, and you don't get that much noise from it and ££££.

Im getting a nice Simota dual charger at the weekend, should do the job unless I wanna spend £350 for a Maxogen!

i am also interested in 1 of these induction kits... purely for the sound like on the vids ^^^
just wondering would :

have the same desired sound as the kit posted above by chough81?

Sooo many hreads about these, they also also meant to suck in hot air from the rad. K-Tec posted up when they first came out that their test car lost power with it fitted.. but this was with a smaller filter on it. They are also meant to be REALLY loud and of course for that price made out of plastic.

Liking the sound of the Simota, but owning a turbo car i know all to well the importance of low intake temps. Anyone have any sound clips/vids of other available kits?

Nice, i'll try and save up for an Induction kit & 1 of the air feeds... not sure which Simota kit to get.. the more expensive Carbon Aeroform or 1 of the cheaper 1's from eBay, purely want it for the sound but obviously dont want to be losing any power because of heat soak!

Tbh as long as the ebay versions actual filter is 'ok', meaning that it will flow enough air but also filter it well then i'm sure it'll fine. But testing that may be hard work. Not sure if you Renault guys have any airflow measuring software but on my Cupra i can use my laptop to log air flow and intake temps etc which makes life easier when testing filters.
