Simple amp question...

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

Almost finished my install tonight but a I was just checking the following:

Ive got 2 amps next to each other. One has all the power, earth and remote wires going into it. Is it simply a case of connecting another power, earth and remote wire from that amp to the other?

Cheers!!!

use a power splitter block for the power

you might be able to use one earth, but i wouldnt connect the 2nd amp to the earth through the 1st amp, do it away from it

remote wire should be fine id have thought

dont daisychain the power or earth. like mentioned use a splitter block for the power.

for the earth run a lead from each amp and screw into the chasis floor and earth both wires at the same point

Cheers for the replies. Just got in from work so with some more bits. Managed to get hold of a power splitter block and some more earth wire earlier!

Hopefully be working in a bit!

Ive wondered before now how do you sort the remote lead out for 2 amps? What exactly runs down the cable, is it a small bit of power or does some other signal run down there??

I ran one cable to the headunit from the boot, then split it under the rear seats so a seperate lead went to both amp but ran from one. Think it just sends a little bit of power down, just to let the amps know to switch on!

the remote cable sends about 0.3-0.5 amps down its length just to let the amp know the headunit is operable bit like an on off switch my remote lead is splitt in to three! one to a lightning audio 100wrms amp for my 6x9s the other two go to onboard amps on my vibe cbra10" subs i checked the power output on all three remote leads with my multimeter and they were all reading 0.4 and under heavy drive 0.3 so no problems with splitting!
