Simple 'free' remote desktop for mac.

Basically, I'm sitting on my macbook now and I want to be able to control the music thats coming out of my speakers that are connected to my desktop.

I have remote desktop on the mac but I don't like it, and it only logs in as certain users, not the one I want.

Is there a simple VNC type thing for mac, where I put the server on the windows desktop and just use the client on my Mac to control the music etc? Anyone had any experience with this type of thing?

if you're in the same room download chicken of the vnc and enable the sharing part within network prefs and allow access for vnc users. Just about the best solution out there.
