Skirts n Laquer

ok heres the query.
Got me hands on some RSi skirts a while back. And just wondering on how may coats of laquer i actually NEED?? Ive put about 3 on so far. But sometimes after i put a coat on, it goes a bit dull again. I know it shud be dryin in the warmth. (this is all DIY btw, so i let them dry in my house), but i just seem to be gettin through tones of laquer with only a bit of shine, and i havent even started the other skirt yet!

I was told i need about 6 coats - true? I done all the other prep work, like wet n dry, primed ok, sprayed green etc, just the laq?
Am thinking of gettin a bodyshop to finish them off, cos it needs to look just like the paintwork obviously. Have i cacked it, or do i just keep spraying on.

Any ideas from and handy painters?

cheers.

i doubt 6 coats of laquer, but i aint no sprayer!

if u want a proper job and get the right finish then take it to a sprayer and they will do em for £90 the pair spray and laquer

yeah give it a "mop"

bucket of warm water with a couple of drops of fairy liquid in and some 1500wet and dry

soak the wet and dry paper in the water then rub lightly on the surface

wipe it dry (it will look really bad at this point, but dont worry)

now get your T-CUT out and get polishing (it removes all the scratches that are cause by rubbing it with the wet and dry)

hey presto flat shinny paint work!!!!
