Thought I'd get myself a Fabia splitter, can't got wrong for £11.98 inc Vat. Easy to fit, just ended up cutting about 30mm off each end. Then gave her a bit of a clean.

Had a new clutch fitted this week along with the gearbox being stripped and a bearing and seal being replaced. So I went for a bit of a drive and afew pics, the transmission work has made a big difference and was worth every penny!

Very nice! Can't really see the splitter how hard was it to fit?

Really easy, took about half an hour. Trimmed the ends off the lugs on the splitter, clipped it in place, drilled 5 holes through the splitter and into the bumper, fixed in place with pop-rivets and cut extra length off.

I thought the wheels might have been for sale this weekend, but my 16 inch Oz f1's don't fit.

Part number for the splitter is 5J0 807 061 9B9, ordered mine on the phone on Tuesday was available for collection on Thursday. It even comes in a box!!

The centre bore on my 16's must be something like 59.5mm, so the need opening up. But they are also 7.5 inches wide so will need spacers. I've had them refurbed and powdercoated aswell, so it hasn't been a great week for me along with the gearbox/clutch issue.

The release bearing went on the clutch, so it was booked in for a new clutch at a transmission specialist. When they had the gearbox off they found a bit of metal in the oil, so stripped it down to find one of the bearings had had it. 15/16 hours later it was back in one piece!

I might get the 16's bored out this week, as I do fancy a change.

Im going to invest in one of these for my 182 i think.

This much like the Cupra R splitter is cheap, at what point to Renault not realise that what they are selling is essentially a bit of f**king plastic and at £100+ for the priviledge?

Looks excellent on your Phase 1 mate, ill probably use self tappers rather than pop rivets so i can take it off easier if i decide to wrap it in carbon sheeting :D

  Vantage
Random question: is this splitter thicker then the megane one... Because my megane one scrapes like a bi**h

I've always used self tappers before, but the pop rivet were out on my dads bench and they do drill out pretty easily.

Not sure, I've scraped mine already! I knew that I would but at 12 quid wasn't too bothered.

Yeh it is very bendy, which makes it easy to fit without any gaps where it wouldn't match the profile of the bumper.

Cheers Robbos!!
