Sky box turning off every night

My Sky+ box goes into standby every night.

I have to switch it on every morning.

MotoGP is on 4.45am Sunday.

Any ideas why this piece of shite which Sky call technology is doing this?

Nothing else does, it is plugged into a 4 way with the tv etc and it is the only thing doing this.

Are there any settings in the menu's.....i have looked but cant see anything.

Although i have just found Autostandby on....set it to off.

Why the hell has it just switched itself on.or is it new feature added. I assume that i would miss anything and it would switch itself on if i had a recording set.

yeah its the auto standby setting mate, was the same on my HD box.

Yeah it's a new feature, won't make any difference to recordings.

You can switch the box off half way through a recording and not effect anything.

It's a feature. I wish mine did it.. not noticed it yet.
It was an update on the HD boxes a long time ago along with Sky Anytime.. not turned up on my Sky+ box tho yet.

Mine's doing the same and its annoying me as well. I'll go through settings and see if I can alter it there. What puzzles me is why has it just started doing it or is it something Sky have activated?

It's new.. and you can turn it off on an HD box, so I guess you can on +.

Why does it annoy you anyway? :S Does it turn off when you need it on and watching it etc?

Sky activated it one of these global warming bullshit things it auto turns off if you dont use it for x amount of hours.
Can I disable Auto Standby?

If you regularly watch TV in the early hours of the morning, you can permanently disable Auto Standby. Press Services, then 5 - select Sky+ Setup, then Auto-Standby: set to off.
