Sky HD

Ok, looking to get this pretty soon, but a few questions for those who have it/know about it...

1. Any good deals going at the moment? It is £250 for the box, plus £60 one off charge, plus £10 p/month from sky's website. Quite expensive really?

2. Does it need a new instalation? I've already got sky+ so got 2 signal inputs? The HD boxes are on ebay for like £100 cheaper than sky.

3. Worth getting now, or should I wait?

It wont need anymore installation as like you have said you already have Sky + so 2 inputs.

I'm not sure about just getting a box on ebay and using that. At least with Sky you get a 12month warranty.

a) No real deals. You have to wait until someone like Comet does something, otherwise, it's a pretty fixed price. Comet at Christmas did £99 for the box, £30 install as long as you took out Sky Talk (£0 each month) which was awesome.

b) I know someone who did buy a box from eBay.. installed it themselves (just swapped the SKy+ box as both inputs were already there) and phoned Sky - just £10 a month then. Last I checked tho, the ones with full 12 months warranty etc, all were quite expensive now? Sky installed mine, and the engineer came out, swapped cables over, did an update, and left.. sorted. I asked him for the LnB though, as I was entitled to a new one, and he left it in the box for me if I ever did need it

c) Definetely worth getting.
