I think I will get SKY after researching on here people's opinions.

Anyone know of any good deals apart from the ones on their website?

I will also want sky broadband, so the £26pm deal will be excellent.

The house has BT and cable and wireless sockets but BT are trying to charge me £120 to re-connect.

Any comments, suggestions?

Sky+ is what I want too.

If the house has BT sockets then it shouldn't be £120 to reconnect as there is already an installation there, unless the wiring from the house to the street has gone.

Bear in mind that you have to be on an LLU exchange covered by easynet to get the £26 a month offer, otherwise your broadband will be £17/month.

I thought that fee only applied to a new installation? We just had a BT line re-connected and didn't pay anything for it to be connected.

We are going for the See speak surf package, or whatever it's called. But be prepared for BT to piss you about. We already have the lines in as we used to have a BT phone line but are telling us we still have to pay £124 to reconnect.

You can find your exhange by postcode and then see what options you have, it'll show which (if any) LLU operators have equipment in the exchange.

Ouch, so much for BT welcoming back ex-customers...didn't realise that the 120 charge was applied so randomly!

yer, I mean why the feck would you want to re-connect for that price.

SKY can refund you the fee for re-connecting to BT by reducing your monthly line rental, but it means you still have to fork out on it from the beginning.

So charges are as follows.

£99 sky+ box
£124 Reconnecting to BT
£30 installation
£20 broadband activation

£273 Just for sky!

Then its £26 monthly for basic package + £10.50 line rental for BT.

Damn.

and the fact sky broadband is terrible. If going with the adsl option stay away from them, pipex and tiscali IMO
