Slight change.... got them wired up

  BMW M5 & E36
I bought these dual-optics off Giles (thanks again mate) a few weeks back after tootling up to chesire with a friend in his Elise.

Finally got my bulb set and managed to get hold of an H7 holder from a breakers for a few pounds.

Had a quick look at wiring last night to see what I would need, headed to a local electrical store and bought a nice crimping set. Job done within an hour of getting back home from the shop and then a couple of minutes to figure which extra fuse I needed to pop in to keep the dipped on with main:D

Definate improvement. I'm looking to do mine at some point, how easy was it to do?

Very easy mate, don't see why I was so concerned about it before now! If you get hold on some then feel free to PM me for help :)

Nice one, was my guide any good? Your sidelights also should be coming on with the dipped beam?

Yep many thanks Dave, went out to look at it after getting your PM and it all clicked :)

The sidelights are on mate yeah, just got dipped and main beam on in that pic so its hard to see.

There's a bit of an art to it :clown:

Basically, have dipped beam on, then at the same time as flicking them off to just sidelights, pull the stalk forward for a flash on the main beam. If that makes sense.

Thanks mate. They are pretty similar with just dipped/side's on, but when I flick main beam on too they are loads better due to the dipped staying on too unlike before :)

Am i right in thinking that the white nobs ontop of the servo's adjust the height? One points up a smidge more than the other.

good job mate, i love projector lights, they seem to be much crisper and sharper lines on the edge of the beams.

do ph2's not keep the dipped beam on with the main beam?id not how do you do it?

i havent actually looked myself, but im pretty sure the dipped stay on when the mains are on.

i cant remember the last time i used the main beams.

I just know that with the old plain ph1 headlights like in my first picture, the dipped/main are the same bulb, just two filaments so they arent on together unless the stalk is held forward for a constant flash!

Never looked at a ph2 light up close :)
