SLOW ACCELERATION

  CLIO 172 MK 2
MY ACCEL PEDEL SEEMS TO HAVE DROPED A BIT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR IS SLOWER TO ACCELERATE,
AND WHEN MY FOOT IS ON THE FLOOR THERE IS NOT MUCH POWER...
HAS ANY 1 ANY IDEA AS THE DEALER SAID NOTHING WRONG...???????

  Shed.
i often find that my car mats have slipped up and is blocking the acel from hitting the floor, thus, loosing power. untill i remove the mat, and then it doesnt go much faster anyways because its s**t.

Agreed, probably a cable/mechanism problem.

  Lots of Alfas
Pop the airbox pipe off and see if the throttle is opening fully when the pedal is to the floor.

Is it a 172mk1 or mk2? its easier to adjust on the 172mk1 as theres less electronic gizmo's.

  CLIO 172 MK 2
it is a mk 2 172 and ist electric throtel,no cable and there is no mat cought under the peddel. i have had the car 2 months, and never had to put my foot to the floor.i got full power at HALF WAY....

  No more clio's for me!
Start the car and remove the sensor from the Accelerator pedal, give it five, turn off the engine, put it back in. It should reset it or something? :S
