smashed alloy?!

f**kin choked. there was a car crash on friday near my mums on A59. obviously the clean up wasnt done very well as i fle round corner at some speed and ran over wat was the cooling fan of the car that crashed in middle of road!!
big thump as i hit it. got to car this morning and tyre was flat AND the rim of my front wheel is bent!!!! its an OZ aswell i thought they were proper strong rims?!
can you knock the wheel back into shape or is it a case of having to buy a new one?!
dont think tyre is wrecked it just went down cos lip of rim is bent.

sorry to hear that mate, think you can actually claim. mate of mine had a puncture from a pothole that had been left from road wrks and got a free new tyre and wheel repair (mild kerbing)

new alloy though fella, bending rims back into place weakens them more. once buckled there is no going back

Bin the alloy don't even bother trying to fit it once the bent forget it.

I straightened one of mine, again hit a pot hole and it bent the lip slightly. didnt let the tyre down though. stuck it on the balencer at work and just watched to see where it was bent! then used the hide end of a copper hammer to beat it back into shape, got it so that it was perfectly balenced aswell

there's gotta be a claim to be made there.

surely its the police's responsability to enure that the scene of the accident is safe to other road users?
