A nasty taxi driver bashed into my car today was well gutted, but he diddnt give a poo, only made a scratch on his bumper and his numberplate had fallen off. heres the damage prob upto 2 grand.

My dad once got hit by a taxi driver, turns out the crazy woman was uninsured!!! Theyre a nightmare, keep at it mate, the insurers are still trying to take the unisnured woman to court but with no luck, and that was 2 and a half years ago!

Yeah I hit into the back of a taxi driver a few weeks ago. Wasn't very hard, it was just chucking it down with rain at a roundabout and when I expected him to go he never went and my natural reaction was to move as well.

He got out of his car, had a look at his rear bumper and got back into his car without giving a damn.

Lucky I suppose as taxi drivers tend to be stroppy unless your a paying passenger of course.

yup, theyll cut along the red lines ive drawn(ish) and then drill the spot welds which are the red dots, the blue line should just be sealer so can just be ripped off hard

the taxi driver admitted responsibility, and his insurance company are sending a bloke out to do an engineers report on thursday morning, then i will get the go ahead.
iv seen other threads where they come out and write your car off because of quite minor damage, if its more the 3/4 the cost of the car.
how do they tell its a write off? does mine look like a write off?
the door is not affected and shuts perfectly.

It could have been worse a taxi driver did this to my car back in April and the claim still isn't sorted, needless to say they wrote it off.

how come they aint sorted it yet.

The taxi drivers company at first tried to deny that he even worked for them, and he wouldnt answer his phone, but i got pics on my mobile and it happened at the exit of a shell garage so they would have had cctv, so he just admitted it in the end.

The estimate i got was £1087.
should hopefully be getting it back Fri-sat.

£1087 is pretty damn cheap for the work involved there. I wouldn't touch that with a bargepole, and would have told the insurance a write-off in most cases. Anyway, glad you got it sorted mate, thankfully taxi drivers up here are pretty decent guys!

that should be a write off, i had a front right impact nowhere near as bad as that and the costs came to £2500, i was given the option to write it off or repair it. They offered me good money, so was a no brainer.

My bro did the same to his 1.4 16v Dynamique. Think it cost around 1500 to fix. New 1/4 panel, spray door, panel and wing. Bloody taxi drivers!
