Smoking Clio ?

Hi Guys looking for help with my smoking exhaust i have just fitted a decat pipe on my 172 cup and there is smoke coming from the cat to manifold area under the bonnet its as tight as i can get it and im wondering if its leaking exhaust gas or whether it could be the copper grease i have used to protect the new bolts i have used has any one had similar probs or knows what it could be.

Did you put on a new exhaust gasket and paste mate?

used old gasket but new fittings

paste ........ no paste

How lomg has it ran since you changed it? If youve just put it back together it would burn the copper grease if youve driven it a bit since probably not.

thats what i thought but i rang the manufacturer of the grease and asked them that and they said that it doesn't smoke and will only start to burn at 200 degrees C.

only just fitted it by the way.
