Snake in the gearbox

Car  "Navy" N17 TWO
Im gettin a light scraping/hissing noise in 1st gear just after "biting point", as the car begins to move.
Sometimes occurs when changing other gears

Any ideas what this is?

Many thanks in advance

ok ok so im bored lol. i sometimes get a scrapin noise when changin up into 3rd , jus seems to be that my clutch isnt fully pressed down.

Not sure why the text was white :S

I dont think its because the clutch is too far up/down - its not the gear crunching sound you get if you miss the gear.

It occurs most when I'm in town traffic, when I lift the clutch up gently to move the car about 2 feet at a time :sleepy:

One of my valvers used to make that noise.

Someone mentioned it might the the 'release bearing', but i have no idea at all.

There was certainly nothing wrong with the clutch it was VERY strong and didn't slip at all.
