From which side? What made you think it was a bearing? Does it get louder/quiter with speed/cornering...?

Again, any more details?

I had a similar noise and thought it was the bearing, but turned out to be the caliper slider had stuck, causing the brakes to bind when they got hot. Maybe worth a look?

i ave read few threads on here that say thats normaly the noise, i am sure it is from the back not front but its loud, when i accelarate then when i slow down it dies down a bit i know it aint the gear box coz i take it out of gear and it still does it

:S you changed the front bearing?
The rear bearing could have gone, quick way to check is jack the car up and give the wheel a waggle to see if there's any play in it. Not very technical I know.
I had rear bearings go on my 1.2 and the humming was predominantly from the rear. It increased with speed and cornering and at low speeds wasn't audible at all.

SNAP!!!!!

i just did the exact same thing today! took my car to a renault specialist as its making a kind of ticking noise like a stone in the tyre (its not before anyone says anything pmsl), they thought it could be the bearing, got my mechanic mate to change it today ( along with a snapped arb bolt and bush we discovered when stripping the hub off the car :s) suffice to say, its not the bearing! soooo pissed off!

think it might be my driveshaft :(
