Solenoid for the phase shifter.

I've removed the the solenoid to check that it is working ok. When I apply 12volts to the terminals the solenoid activates but the piston inside the valve only moves about 2-3mm. Doesn't seem enough movement to me Should the piston move more than this?

They only move that amount. That sounds normal.

Thanks for that, just got to check I'm getting the 12v going into the solenoid now.

You should get a perminant 12v to the solenoid. Then the ECU controls it via a RCO earth signal.

RCO earth? I thought that 12v. Is only put onto the solenoid when revs. reach 1800rpm. I'm reading the F4r Tech. notes.
