Solving the rattles

My dash board is starting to drive me crazy, there is rattles in 2 places. One is in the middle somewhere near the windscreen demisters and the other is in the right air vent to the right of the steering wheel.

Im planning on taking the dashboard off my clio 172 mk2 and then examining it for potential vibrations. What I really wouldnt mind doing is covering the whole back of it with fairly thin sound deadening material. Perhaps something like this:

This stuff is fire safe and pretty cheap , probably looking at £50 for the whole dash.

Before I pull the dash off does anyone know if it will be possible to stick this stuff to the back of it.

Also any tips appreciated.

shouldnt see it as being too much of a problem, however you would only probably be able to do the fairly flat internal panels (i.e. sections without loads of connections etc.) but i doubt this would stop the rattles - just make the cabin quieter in my opinion

you might want to look into getting some of the sound deadening spray as well, as this could be could for detailed sections

dynamat do spray deadener for small spaces like corners etc, but warning u now, make sure its all off ready coz once u start using that can, you cant stop as it cloggs up after finishing with it!

& also, dont use that stuff, get some Xtreme Dynamat, simple stick on stuff that can go round corners, over uneven surfaces etc, works a treat! my front two doors are full of it! now my doors shut like a beamer :D
