Like it matey, although Euro with buckets?? And I'd get a stealth exhaust too =)

  Ph1 track 172
the buckets came long before she went all euro,
pic for old times sake

image00074b.jpg

(that was take 1 when i was 17 and had no cs to show me the way)

im trying to make it differnt,
going for the rs rear end, and keeping the small exhaust,
and the ph2 door strips with 1.2 badges, (when i can find some)

however i dont want to do any mods JUST to make it different,
i want it to look nice to me, and if its like some other clios up north,
ill just have to live with it :(

however i believe rages old clio was written off, so perhaps its been re-encarnated (sp)

when its all colour coded its gunna look the s**t.
cant wait to see it when its all done and propper !

you and me both,

unfortunatley my useless mrs decieded to be born exactly 17 years and 11 months ago. so i really need to start saving money to buy her a present, clios going to have to go on hold for the mean time. :dapprove:

Your rear bumper isn't a brilliant colour match. I would take it back to the bodyshop who did it.

;)

m8 i just think u should stick with rs ph1 or get the rest of the kit, if u want a rs ph2 look
cant like a ph2 rear bumper in ph1 car,the rims its much of my taste but thats look's fine ,nice lowering ;)

Not really euro. Looks ok, but will look much better when all the paint matches and is colour coded.

this guy clearly knows his stuff as your car aint euro ;) how about getting me a long stand from B&Q or even a left handed screw driver.

car looks spot on bud really like it, its not over done n smoothed. 8 out of 10 from me bud
gone for 16's or 15's

theyre 15s,

ill have to work on the 8/10,

was thinking people would be more accepting if i threw a tub of filler on it then called it euro! want to go along the lines of rages front bumper, but the one ive got is shagged,

however for the mean time, im having trouble at the rear, involving scrubage :(

Looks spot on mate, loving the rims,
will look so much different when that rear bumper gets sorted, and yeah, stealth exhaust.. ;)

f**k the scrubbage bud live with it, my mates astra coupe rubbs like a b**ch on 19's lowered lol its cool as f**k tho lol i do seriously dig the car tho bud

  Ph1 track 172
ahh cheers,
good to hear it from another euro fan (im guessing by the looks of your threads)

only problem is the arguments between the tyre and the lip of the quatre pannel,
and i think the metal might win,

was thinking of maybe trying to roll them in, but couzins paint all split and came off,
making me dubious

yea that is 1 possible problem could do what my mate did with his astra hit the lip with a hammer then if it cracks on the inside just go over it with hammerite. its propper ghetto mod/fix but you wouldnt know unless he told you

i was thinking something along those lines,

might not use a hammer tho, ill do it abit more gently,

so you say if it cracks on the inside,

but what if it cracks on the out??
cry???

im going to source a front bumper from somewhere and fill in the lines,

because tbh, people say its not euro till its filler,
but i dont want to filler for the sake of it,
the rs rear bumper hasnt got any lines in it really,
and i like the door stips,

the only part of the car that has too many lines imo (which is the one that counts :approve:) is the front bumper, with the fogs and the screw holes for them :dead:

thats b****cks about it not being euro unless its filler, they dont have a clue! euro is slammed on a small set of wheels with some poke of some sort ie like the post i quoted prime example

Putting small wheels on a car does not make it euro, and that is pretty much all thats been done to this for the euro look at the moment. So it is far from euro just yet. The euro look is widely considered to be a smoothed look, doing away with badges, handles, locks etc, as well as being slammed with a low wide stance. Look at the various other car forums with good examples of euro cars, and they dont just have small wheels.

This is a forum, if you dont like my opinion, which is shared by others on here after reading other threads where people claim their car is euro, dont comment on my post.

Gonna have to agree with geordieracer here. Fake splits a shocker sticker and a drop don’t make it euro. As for small wheels!?!? News to me, it’s normally more to do with the style of the wheels i.e. wide with a big dish. BBS lms for example come in 17" and up and there’s plenty of Euro VW`s running them. I think the problem is people trying to jump on the band wagon. Same with the Rat look stuff. A rusty bonnet doesn’t mean it’s a rat!

A lot goes into the euro look, lemme list one or two things:

Stance: not just a drop on coilies because any one can do that. Arch work, camber, notched chassis just to name a few. As i have said in another thread it cost a lot of money to get a good stance and it’s what makes the car.

Wheels: wide, splits, tucked or poke. Normally with stretched tyres. It’s all about the wheels.

Body work: it’s a bit of a myth everything needs to be smoothed and filled. You can maintain a very good Euro look with just the 2 above being done properly and some minor cleaning (the cleaned look) up. Badge removal, a little bit of smoothing, colour coding.

As for the long stand i don’t think i have heard of one of them either, maybe you meant a Long Wait?? Don’t get so defensive, geordieracer was only pointing out the obvious which I also did about 3 posts up. Like he said above its a public forum. Its a lovely clio but it’s just not Euro.

well if i ever want a text book euro car, ill come see you,

tbh theres alot more than you can see in the pic,
stance, yes its lowered, its having arch work done on it due to the stance, spaced out as far as can safely be done, and no need for a notched chassis lol, and both the rear and front have negative camber,

those were the wheels i wanted, theyre 7j which is as wide as i wanted them, and theyve got strech on the tyres,

im sorry if ive self confesed it as euro, perhaps OEM+ with some euro touches would have been a better name.

and i asked at B&Q what the difference between a long stand and a long wait is, he says theyre both compatable with the same situations!

i dont understand why people put different bumpers on before painting it looks stupid why not leave it standard till its painted

Take from E38 but here are some example of nice EU frech cars

dish-1.jpg

Nice bit of smoothing going on there , lack of badge and nothing else, dont tell me the door trims have been removed as ive seen the build thread. the euro you guys are talkin about and what all the confusion comes from is the French, Spanish and Dutch "euro" which looks sh!t ross's car was mint n a prime example but even he doesnt agree euro is about smoothing everything

also its got f**k all to do with having fake or real split rims, its what you can afford. Wheel snobs only moan because they forked out for propper ones

the euro look is coming along nicely m8, just need to get every thing sprayed when you have the money dude

Just a little unsure you have no idea what the euro look is even about? you don’t even know what poke is?

My last two cars have been lowered, de-cluttered, wide wheels (within my budget and the last ones were 15”s), coilovers, with a lot of poke with a big stretch and i would never have gone and made a thread saying this is my euro car as both were far from the euro look. You are most prob a lot closer saying OEM but almost as far away as saying it euro. Get a bonnet bra and it will defo be eu then

As for all the "French, Spanish and Dutch euro crap" they are kinda leading the way at the moment. As for the 106, lovely stance, de-cluttered, nice wheels oh and the bumper strips have been smoothed and the centre bar in the front bumper removed? Not sure as its hard to see from the picture. But the overall look of the car is EU.

Not trying to insult your intelligence but my 200 isn’t a race car as it has brembos and recaros.

TBH, who gives a f**k if its euro or not, i love the OPs car

he doesn't have to tick all the silly snobby euro boxes for it to be classed as euro imo, you make out to be an expert and saying it needs a bonnet bra to be euro?

Saying that 106 is euro must be a fail on your part, the only thing not standard about it is:

the Pug badge removed from the front (something nearly every 106 owner including my self does, hardly euro, if its all about being different)

the bar removed from the bumper (again something loads of 106 owners do)

color coded bumpstrips (nothing new)

gash brows, smoothed washer jets? and rare as f**k mirrors

so basically its a normal forum modded style 106 lowered on its arse with dishy wheels, how does that mean clio142s Clio isn't euro?

The bonnet bra thing was a piss take as everyone seems to think if you fit a bonnet bra its instantly euro. Which is along the same lines as what the op has done with some wheels and a drop. All im pointing out is it take a lot more than that to make it in "MY EYE" and obviously others... euro.

As for the 106 i like the way you went the only thing not standard then realed of a big list. You seem to have missed the point of what i wrote and just want to dissagree. The clio is just lowered but the 106 has had a lot more work to get it where it is. Maybe the 106 wasnt the best example of euro but its a dame site closer than the ops car.

They are just mods nearly every 106 owner does,
This is exactly the same apart from the mirrors, if it had wide dishy wheels would you say it was euro?
