somethings wrong...

  Clio mk1 rally :P
hey.

last night i started my car. and proceeded to reverse out of my drive. the car juddered quite a bit so was a bit worried. but kept on going. as a pulled off down the road (driving normally) the car started juddering quite alot!. i woud put my foot down a bit more but no extra power. then it would uddently gain power then loose it.. im sure from the out side it looked like the carwas rocking...

i stoped at the traffic lights for 5min.. then when i carried on driving everything was ok.

and it was fine driving home later that night...

about 40min ago i left to go to town. and the same thing happened..
reall have no idea what is wrong. and its really annoying... any ideas???

thanks DM

If it's that severe I'd say it's a sparking poorly.
New Distributor cap and rotor arm may solve. May need new coil pack (always common on later MK2s)

Mileage and age?

its an MK1 . 10 years old 45k
i thought it could be the plugs... hopefully getting it serviced soon.

Cant edit the post for some reason I was going to say just for you info it looks like this

and will be attatched on the exhaust manifold somewhere they are a bugger to get out though. But doubt its that. But like Point8 (mark I think lol) says you can always unplug it to see if it runs better on the cold map but I'd be thinking leads/CP first

got the car back from the garage last night
apparently one of the spark plugs was burnt out and was half out the lead and the cylinder.
and the leads where all worn and so they were replaced.
while i was at it i got it serviced
the new leads gost £25 i think

but with the whole service it came to £166 :s

saying that.. the car does run perfectly :)

YAY
