Sony Radio Code/Steering Wheel Removal

I am buying a new steering wheel but it doesn not have the airbag.

Firstly to remove the wheel I understand you need to disconnect the battery.

I am hesitant to do so as I have an aftermarket sony system and don't have the box anymore. Will I need a radio code for this?

Also will the airbag just unplug and go straight into the new one?

Is it the same steering wheel? If so then yes, the airbag will go on the new one.

I've never had any issues with any aftermarket stereos and codes, I would check the manual (might be able to find it online if you no longer have it) to see if a security code is enabled before disconnecting the battery if you're worried

As far as I can see in the manual there is no security on it.

I thought radios were linked into the imobiliser.
